What is a REALTOR®?
Not every real estate agent can call themselves a REALTOR®. A REALTOR® is a licensed real estate agent who is also a member of one of 11 real estate boards in British Columbia. REALTORS® are also members of the Ottwa Real Estate Board, and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
What sets REALTORS® apart from other real estate agents is their high standard of professionalism and commitment to value for their clients. All real estate professionals who join a real estate board must act in accordance with the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, which outlines the accepted standard of conduct for all REALTORS®. REALTORS® also have access to the Multiple Listings Service® (MLS®), a co-operative listing service operated by real estate boards across Canada.
